Looking into going away but don’t know where to start? Creating the holiday you’ve always wanted is easy! We’ve made a short guide for you to help you personalise your holiday and make the most of it!
- Time frame
When do you want to go on a trip? You can pick the time you prefer regardless of whether it is during the holidays or for a special occasion, or even if it just for the weekend! We have made it easier for you so we’ve added the available cottages for specific seasonal breaks on our webpage.
Also, how long would you like to stay? You get to decide that! You can book in advance with confidence with our Master Cancel Policy or if you prefer, you also have the option for last-minute bookings. Just have a look at our website for availability or give us a call!
- Destination
Figuring out where you want to stay is one of the best parts of planning your trip! You get to choose the location and how close to the town you would like to be. Most of our cottages are close to scenic walks so you really cannot go wrong with this one. Is there anything specific you would like to see or do? Maybe seeing a historical monument, hiking, engaging in water activities, or even just to visit the small Scottish towns and embrace the culture. Choosing what you would like to do beforehand could be a great guide for where to take your trip!
We have made a short list of activities you might want to try if you are out of ideas.
- Which holiday home
Now, we’ve narrowed it down to the cottage itself. What do you do when there are plenty to choose from within the area you like to visit? Firstly, have a look at our availability which is quite easily accessible on our website. If you have a specific holiday home in mind and it is not available for your time frame, give us a call and we can always find you a similar property.
Secondly, consider your needs. Are you travelling with your children or with a loved one for example? That way, you can choose by property type. And thirdly, have a look at the amenities each property offers. Is private parking a must? Would you like a property with a private garden? Do you prefer accessible accommodation? We have all of these covered and you can find information for each property whenever you need it.
- Food
Food is such an important aspect of every holiday! The benefit of self-catering accommodation is that you get to choose what where and when! You can choose to try out local produce and new recipes and maybe even to treat yourself! You can have breakfast at 7 or at 11 in the morning, it is totally up to you. And for the times that you prefer to just cook something you already know from a place that is familiar, there are plenty of local supermarkets in the towns where the cottages are based. You could also be flexible and choose to dine out or to enjoy your lunch during your hike.
5. Plan your activities
You can be as spontaneous as you like with the activities you choose but you can also plan ahead of time. Most activity centres accept or even recommend bookings, so you’ll have it all planned out and you won’t have to worry about it last minute. If you prefer to have the freedom to choose upon your arrival, there are plenty of historical sights and nature walks that you can explore that do not require any bookings!
6. Enjoy your holiday
And that is all done, you have it all sorted now! Now all that is left to do is enjoy your holiday and the new experiences it brings.
