We are back with another interview. For today’s blog we interviewed Sara and Maciek, who in 2019 founded Brambling Bus, providing exciting tours around Scotland which are available in four different languages! Here’s what they had to say about their business.
How would you describe Brambling Bus in one sentence?
We organise private, custom-made tours around Scotland in four languages – English, French, Italian and Polish – and always do our best to plan special trips for our guests.
What can people expect from one of your tours?
S: Our guests can expect an unforgettable day out (or a full trip, if they are booking a multi-day tour), completely tailored to their needs.
M: We are professional but easy going, and we like to give them the feeling that they’re on a road trip with friends, where we do all the research and are happy to drive to take them to cool places.
What do your customers love most about your tours?
S: Maciek’s jokes! No, I think they really like the fact that they can just enjoy their holiday without worrying about planning and driving around, especially if they’re not used to driving on the “wrong” side of the road. They love that whenever they have a question Maciek is there, ready to guide, explain and even show them interesting pictures!
M: So they are truly on holiday, rather than with their noses in their phones, guidebooks or maps.
What do you like the most about taking people on tours?
S: What I personally like the most is that we have the chance to meet so many different people from all around the world, with whom we can share our passion for Scottish culture, nature and history. At the end of every tour, we feel like we spent a day with new friends rather than just customers. This is what I like the most: the human interaction.
M: Yes, it can really be the best job in the world because we travel around the country, visiting beautiful places and seeing them every time through the eyes of different people. It’s like being on holiday!
What’s your favourite destination?
S: We are fond of many places, but I would say that our favourite destination is the Isle of Mull. Right?
M: Yeah, because it has a bit of everything: it has miles of beautiful and very different beaches, it has mountains and waterfalls, it has the cutest tiny town of Tobermory, and many places serving good food and beers. We like it because – even in summer – it’s less crowded than other places and gives access to her wee sister, the Isle of Iona.
Do you have any tips to help outdoors enthusiasts to cope with lockdown?
M: A very nice, high definition picture of that special Scottish place that you love as a wallpaper on your laptop, that’s one.
S: I would say: keep planning! Without a specific date in mind, as that can actually trigger some frustration. But maybe writing lists or collecting photos of the places you would like to visit could help…because at some point, you will go there! Daydreaming is always good.
M: Just look for inspiration. When the time becomes safer, those places will still be there waiting for you.
Is there anything else you would like to say to our readers?
M: Yeah, after being stuck at home through the whole summer of 2020 probably, treat yourself to a private tour in 2021! WINK
S: And keep an eye on our website because we will soon be adding new tours, including TRANSFER TOURS.
