Callander Summerfest is back for its fifth edition, and we could not be more excited.
Last Saturday we decided to visit the small town on the first day of celebrations. Needless to say, we were soon wrapped in the lively atmosphere and greeted by the local volunteers working the stalls and exhibitions.
St. Andrew’s Church is currently hosting three small exhibitions: paintings, photographs and history notes on the Suffragette movement kept us engaged for the first part of the afternoon. With an ice-cream cone we headed to the main square, where art, drinks, face painting and a raffle dominated the scene, and the buzz of locals, tourists and visitors animated the streets with chatter and laughter.
The two-week programme has only just begun, and it is definitely worth checking out! Between stalls, exhibitions, live performances and more, this can be a nice day trip or just an afternoon of entertainment if you are passing by.
