The BLiSS Trail is now online! This unique series of art installations connecting the villages of Strathyre, Balquihidder, Lochearnhead and St. Fillans was created by the Loch Earn Tourism Information group. They have now released an audio tour that explores the meaning behind the individual sculptures.
The trail was launched in 2016 for the Year of Innovation, Architecture and Design, with the purpose of promoting the area known as Rob Roy Country and it is now a permanent attraction. What does it consist of? 21 sculptures by local artists, all linked in one way or another to Scottish culture.
Visit geotourist.com/tours/2040 or download the app to listen to all of the recordings about the BLiSS Trail while observing the artwork in front of you, or if that is not possible, just take a virtual tour of the area from the comfort of your own home. The audio clips, all recorded by locals, give information about the installations and the artists that created them.
If you follow the path outlined on the map, the different sculptures will not be the only thing catching your attention: this area is in fact popular for its stunning scenery and abundance of outdoor activities available to locals and visitors. Definitely worth a visit, and if you are a cycling enthusiast you will be able to reach all the stops on the map through the National Cycling Network.
