A celebration of our relationship and reliance on horses hosted at the Kelpies, the world’s largest equine sculptures and takes place on Saturday 9th September.
HorsePower is an imaginative and exciting event that celebrates our relationship and reliance on the horse. There is no better place to host this celebration than The Helix Park, home of the magnificent Kelpies, the world’s largest equine sculptures, where equine history and archaeology will be brought to life with a wide range of activity.
Enjoy jousting stunt shows by the Les Amis Stunt Team, whose riders have featured in the Outlander TV series. A local art company, UZ Art, will perform ‘Spirit Unbroken’, a piece inspired by the monumental Kelpies and the legendary and beloved Falkirk horse Carnera. ‘Spirit Unbroken’ brings together a horse spirit, a unicorn, an interactive realm in which horses rule humans and a remarkable dance between a French horse La bête noire and its human partner.
The event programme will include many other family friendly activities transporting the public through history such as the Dig It! museum container displaying a photo booth time machine, horse related artefacts and live exterior graffiti artwork. In addition to these activities, 30 horses from all over Scotland including rare Scottish horse breeds will be attending Horsepower and deliver live demonstrations of horse logging, barge pulling along the canal, harrowing and many more.
