Crombie Cottage is around 150 years old. Located on the popular West Highland Way, the beamed sitting room and log stove create a relaxed and cosy feel. Logs are available from the shop across the road. Tyndrum has a small (but well stocked) general store, pub, restaurant, diner, hotel and The Green Welly Stop. There is a direct railway line from Glasgow and north to Fort William or Oban.
Inside the cottage rooms are modern and spacious. There is a fully fitted kitchen with high ceiling and skylights creating a bright cooking and dining area. This room is part of an extension to the cottage. The lounge, with log burning stove, sofa seating and SMART television, and the double bedroom are part of the original building. Exposed stonework, beams and match boarding provide period character. Free parking is available outside the cottage on the grass verge.
NOTE: There is potential for noise from the nearby road.
OUTSIDE
Free parking is available outside the cottage on the grass verge. The popular West Highland Way walking path passes in front of the property. There is a garden to the front and side of the cottage. Access is via a gate. The property is all on one level inside.
BEDROOMS
There is a double bedroom with wardrobe and clothes hangers. Linen and towels are provided.
LOUNGE
The lounge is part of the original cottage and the stonework and beamed ceiling give that cosy traditional cottage feel. There is sofa seating and a log-burning stove. There is also a television in the lounge.
BATHROOM
The bathroom has a shower, toilet and washbasin.
KITCHEN
The kitchen is part of an extension to the property, with high ceilings and skylights giving a bright airy feel. It is fully equipped for self catering with electric hob, kettle, microwave and toaster. There is also a fridge-freezer.
NEARBY
Tyndrum is a rural village that has great access to local walks. The West Highland Way passes the door of Crombie Cottage. There are also opportunities for munro bagging on the local mountains. There is a general store, pub, restaurant and diner in the village. Guests are also a short drive from Oban, Fort William and Glen Coe.
