Central Scotland is home to some of the most breathtaking waters in the country – each with its own character, scenic beauty, and opportunities for adventure or peaceful reflection. Whether you’re looking to paddleboard, fish, hike, or just soak in the views, these lochs offer something special.
“Loch” is the Scottish Gaelic and Scots word for a lake or sea inlet. In English, the equivalent word is “lake”. So “loch” and “lake” describe the same thing, but “loch” is used almost exclusively in Scotland.
