Scotland is renowned for its breath-taking landscapes, but what sort of creatures inhabit this wilderness?
We asked Andrea and Terry from Aquila Ecology, and they took us on one of their famous tours.
Aquila Ecology is a small company based in St. Fillans, in beautiful Perthshire. They offer walks and guided tours of the area for individuals, groups or families. The tours are planned to suit the needs of the visitors: depending on your age, abilities and potential requests, Andrea and Terry will come up with the best itinerary for you.
Wildlife walks can last from a couple of hours to a full day and depending on the season and time of the day you will be able to observe different species of the local flora and fauna from up close. From bats and birds to worms and toads, you will re-discover the pleasure of being amazed by the quiet creatures that we share our planet with.
Other activities are also available. Among these, Wild Wednesdays have recently taken off in partnership with Comrie Croft: for about 2 hours each week, children are invited to become ‘wildlife detectives’ and explore the woodlands.
