Post-holiday blues? There is nothing worse than getting back to your daily routine after a nice trip, but we have a solution. The best way to survive this change is… to book your next getaway! After all, October break is only a few months away and if the Scottish countryside is your destination, we have a few suggestions.
- Outdoor activities. If you are travelling with children, it is essential to have plans to keep them entertained. How do you feel about adventure and wildlife parks? Blair Drummond Safari Park and Auchingarrich Wildlife Centre host hundreds of local and exotic animals, but if you prefer spotting these creatures in their natural habitat, Aquila Ecology can organise a personalised wildlife walk for you. Feeling adventurous? Outdoor Explore provides guided kayak trips on River Tay and Loch Earn, while Go Ape will have you swinging from tree to tree (in a perfectly safe way, of course!).
- Historic sites. If you are visiting the area for the first time, all of the historic sites are a must. You can learn more about Scotland’s rich history by visiting castles, churches and monuments, or by taking guided tours like the ones in Stirling’s Old Town Jail and Comrie’s Cultybraggan Camp. Check out our blog post about historic sites for more inspiration!
- Film locations. Are you a fan of historical films and TV shows? Then there is a good chance that some of your favourite movies were filmed right here. Read our blog post about film locations to find out where the stars of Outlander and Monty Python played the characters that made them famous.
- Ghosts and ghouls. Things can get crazy during Halloween season. If you want to contact the spirits, or get some sort of explanation for that strange thing that happened that one time, ghost walks might be what you are looking for. What would you prefer, a spooky tour around Stirling, a ghost hunt at Cultybraggan P.O.W. Camp or a haunted bus ride through Edinburgh? You might also want to keep an eye out for this year’s ParaCon Alba, Perth’s very own paranormal festival.
If you are looking to just relax instead, why not book a SPA day or enjoy the heat of one of the hot tubs at our properties? Our guests will also be welcomed with a nice bundle of local seasonal products to enjoy during their stay.
What are you waiting for? Start planning your autumn break now, write a list of activities and browse our website for the property that best suits your needs.
