The temperatures dropped and the leaves have started to fall, but the beginning of autumn certainly does not mark the end of fun family events. Head out to The Lodge Forest Visitor Centre next Saturday, October 12th for a fantastic evening of food, activities, tales by the fire and magical light shows.
Light Up The Forest is a great event for the whole family: as the trees in Queen Elizabeth Forest Park come to life through bright, colourful lights, you will have a chance to explore the forest like you have never seen it before. This year’s theme is woodland folklore, and a storyteller will be sharing magical tales by the fire all night. From 6.30 p.m. you will also be able to enjoy a delicious BBQ at the visitor centre, the perfect treat to warm you up on a cool autumn evening.

The 2018 event was a celebration of 200 years of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. With creative installations, facts about the writer, quotes from the story and activities to engage children of all ages throughout the torch lit path, the night was a big success. The main attraction? The spectacular light show painting the waterfall in multiple colours.
