October 3rd marks the beginning of The Enchanted Forest, a spectacular event that runs for a whole month in the scenic Faskally Wood in the Highlands. An elaborate combination of light and sound shows will transport all visitors away from reality and into a fairy-tale land where the woodland comes to life with music, sound effects and bright colours. Here’s what you should know about the event.
If you think you might have seen this before, think again. The Enchanted Forest is a unique, and constantly evolving event that every year entertains the audience with a different theme. This year the brilliant lighting designers Kate Bonney and Simon Hayes, along with incredibly talented RJ McConnell, Jon Beales and Rachel Cullen (sound designers) were inspired by the beauty and mysteries of the cosmos and we cannot wait to see the product of their hard work. In the meanwhile, here’s a look back at last year’s event.
Colourful lights, music and sound effects are just the beginning of this multi-award-winning show. This dream-like experience will surprise you with its numerous installations along a scenic trail around Loch Dunmore and deep into the woods. This year, the main attraction will be the Geodome, a “spectacular 360° immersive experience” that will make visitors feel like they are flying through the cosmos.
Food and drinks
The best way to enjoy The Enchanted Forest is to take your time and enjoy every single show and installation. If during the night you start feeling the need for a snack, worry not. A local catering firm will provide all visitors with delicious foods and drinks (from pizzas and burgers to toasted marshmallows and chips).
You can find more information about the event on the website. Book your tickets now on enchantedforest.org.uk before they sell out!
