Corrie Cottage, Crieff

Corrie Cottage is a delightful wooden farm cottage situated on the south side of Crieff in beautiful Perthshire, surrounded by farmland and rolling hills and a stone’s throw from the River Earn. It has two bedrooms, a cosy sitting room with a log burning stove, bathroom, large kitchen with glorious views towards Crieff and Glenturret and a large utility/bootroom. It is enhanced by a pleasant, secluded garden filled with a mixture of mature shrubs and trees in which to enjoy your morning coffee.

Guests can enjoy two free fishing permits with each stay. Please tick on booking if required. Further permits can be purchased from the nearby Visitor Centre. All rules regarding fishing can be found on the Crieff Angling Club website

ACCESS

Parking is available beside the property.

UTILITY ROOM

There is a large utility and boot room to store outdoor clothes and hiking boots.

KITCHEN

The kitchen includes an oven and induction hob, fridge-freezer, toaster, kettle and microwave. Cutlery, plates and glasses are provided.

LOUNGE

The cottage has been furnished to a very high standard with a selection of beautiful contemporary tartans and tweeds, luxury bed linen, comfortable soft furnishings and is equipped with Wifi and freeview television. A log burning stove and electric storage heaters ensure you are kept nice and warm in inclement weather.

BEDROOMS

The bedrooms consist of one with a king size bed, which can be converted into a twin, and a twin bedroom.

BATHROOM

There is a bathroom with a bath and shower over.

DOGS

Dogs are more than welcome to enjoy Corrie Cottage as much as the owners and partake in the beautiful walks followed by a refreshing dip in the nearby river, we do ask that they are dried in the utility room before being allowed access to the main house! We also respectfully ask that they are not allowed on to the soft furnishings or beds. There are ample doggie towels and bedding available to use.

OUTSIDE

Parking is available outside the property and there is a secluded garden to enjoy.

Dargill Farm, on which Corrie Cottage is situated, is a mixed arable farm with a large herd of pedigree Simmental cattle. We also have a herd of beef cattle which are kept on our neighbouring farm. If you are interested then tours of our farms can be arranged. There is also a small livery yard where there are 4 ponies housed and  are often in the paddock behind the cottage so you can enjoy watching them play.

There are two fishing permits provided free with your stay at Corrie Cottage. If more permits are required they can be purchased from the nearby Garden Centre in Crieff (see details below)

River Earn Day Tickets

Salmon & Sea Trout
£20/day from 1st February to 31st July with no bait fishing before the 1st May
£30 Daily, from 1st Aug to 15th Oct (all sea trout and hen salmon to be returned after 31 Aug; no Saturday fishing in October).

Brown Trout
£7 Daily (juniors £3), from 15th. Mar. to 6th. Oct. (Fly only and no night fishing)

Grayling

£7 Daily (juniors £3), from 15th Nov to 15th Jan (on Drummond Castle water only).
Note: No day tickets for the last 2 weeks of Oct – members only.

The area surrounding Corrie Cottage abounds with pleasant walks, beautiful hill walking, mountain biking and year round fishing on the River Earn. There is a fishing permit included in the rental of the cottage and further permits can be arranged through Crieff Angling Club. A large variety of other outdoor pursuits are situated very close by. The market town of Crieff, filled with an excellent selection of restaurants and coffee shops, is less than a mile away and can easily be accessed by car or bus.
