About The Stables
The Stables self catering accommodation that sleeps 4/6. A traditional farm steading conversion with spectacular views of the Ochils, Sidlaws and Strathearn. Situated south of Perth on a working farm with stunning views in all directions.
Visitors to The Stables can enjoy watching and listening to the birds, watch the cows, horses and sheep, and enjoy the peace and quiet only available in the countryside.
The Stables, occupies the left (north) part of the building shown in the main picture, offers excellent self catering accommodation for 4 people in 2 bedrooms, plus an additional 2 on a comfortable sofa bed in the upper floor lounge. It can be rented along with the adjoining Granary which sleeps 6/7 persons. This recent conversion of the original farm buildings has been tastefully done. Though the two cottages here are adjoining, each has its own privacy. Environmentally friendly heating is installed, from a renewable energy system utilizing the heat from the ground and conversion by a heat exchange pump giving lots of hot water and a comfortable temperature. The Stables is situated on a working farm and centrally located for exploring the surrounding area. The views from Horslea are simply stunning.
Situated 7 miles south of Perth, a short walk from the small village of Forgandenny (0.75 miles), this location will suit visitors looking for a central location in Perthshire as well as those visiting the nearby schools of Strathallan and Kilgraston. Forgandenny has a historic Church, and a Post Office and small store. The larger village of Bridge of Earn is a five minute drive and has pubs, restaurants, farm shop and a park for children. The City of Perth is a ten minute drive and offers a range of activities from swimming to walking to shopping, a concert hall, museum and art gallery as well as some of award winning restaurants.
The owner of The Stables has cleverly made use of the stunning views from Horselea by making the lounge on the upper floor. It has french doors leading on to a balcony that faces north with magnificent veiws towards Perth and Kinnoull Hill. The lounge is equipped with TV, DVD, music centre and plenty of tourist information and there is a sofa bed that can be used by an additional two persons. Also on the upper floor is a double bedroom and bathroom with shower over the bath. On the ground floor there is a large kitchen/diner fully equipped with fridge/freezer, microwave, washing machine, dish washer, WiFi. There is a ground floor Twin room with comfortable beds and a shower room with easy access shower. The floors throughout are wooden with occasional rugs.

The Fair city of Perth is only a ten minute drive away, allowing guests to explore our historic city, enjoy an evening at the Theatre or our award winning Concert Hall. Perth Museum offers an enjoyable experience for both young and old with many interactive exhibits or special events taking place. Scone place (10 miles), where the Kings of Scotland were crowned, provides an enjoyable day out for the family to explore the grounds, visit the Palace, or enjoy a meal in the tea room. Golfers can enjoy a round at our local award winning courses, there are more than 40 in Perthshire alone, or visit Gleneagles (10 miles) or St. Andrews, the home of Golf (40 miles).
