Look no further as The Highland Chocolatier himself answers our questions about what he has to say regarding his lovely treats!
How would you describe The Highland Chocolatier in one sentence?
My family, my team and I work with fresh, natural ingredients in beautiful Highland Perthshire to hand-craft chocolates which have received over 40 national and international awards.
What can people expect when spending the day at The Highland Chocolatier?
To be completely immersed in the world of gourmet chocolate and beautifully looked after by our team of kind and knowledgeable staff.
Which products/activities are most popular with your customers?
You will always have personal favourites, but the most universally loved are the guided Chocolate Tasting Flights. There is something special about the experience of tasting the chocolates while learning about the techniques, ingredients and processes used to make them. It is wonderful to see people smile as they register the flavours and textures and discover the secrets of each chocolate.
What do your customers love most about The Highland Chocolatier?
Customer feedback suggests that the quality ingredients, flavour and unique texture is high on the list. Alongside that, customers love the warm hospitality of our amazing team.
What do you enjoy most about working for The Highland Chocolatier?
It is a challenging place to work because we try to keep our standards high. It takes days to make each chocolate and years to train a chocolatier, but I will never compromise quality by adding life-extending additives or cheaper, less pure ingredients. On the other hand, the difficulties associated with striving for excellence and overcoming them is also what I enjoy most!
Are there any products/activities that are personal favourites and would recommend?
My personal favourite is the Unenrobed Dark Velvet Truffle. It’s made with intense São Tomé single origin dark chocolate, with naturally occurring notes of spices and fruits, and balanced with fresh Scottish cream and then dusted with rich cocoa powder. It took three years to develop and its texture and flavours get me every time. It also received the “World’s Best Truffle” at the International Chocolate Awards, which means I’m not the only one who thinks it’s pretty special!
Is there anything else you would like to say to our readers?
